Before you Customize the Default or Classic WP Theme
I post this to remind myself of an error I made a year ago.
I created a theme based on the WordPress Classic. Didn’t give it a new name.
Why should I? I didn’t create it anyway. I just changed a few codes to make it looked different. When it was done, it looked almost similar to the web. And I was proud of it for a while.
Until when I upgraded to a new version through cpanel …. or was it done through a manual upgrade?
But anyway, after the upgrade, the Classic looked exactly as it should be - The Classic.
What a complete waste of time!
It was a costly mistake that till today, I didn’t go back to that blog to do anything.
I searched through my harddisk and could not find the Classic that was modified by me. What remained was the image files.
Lesson learned: Never modify a theme and named it Default or Classic.
This time I’m going to name the new theme - Undefault.
If I ever make the same mistake again, I’ll throw my laptop into the drain ….
