My Free Web Template - Theme Satumu

This is my free CSS web template.

By free, I mean I didn't have to pay a cent for this template; I designed it.

It also means it's free for you to copy, to customize and to use.

But if you take the time and effort to learn how to code it, I'm sure you are able to take this simple one column template to the next level.

Satumu Who?

Satumu is a Malay word for "first" or "one".

Previously when I designed a few themes for my WordPress miniblogs. I was experimenting with the single column template, so I decided to use the prefix "Satu" for the one column creations.

Most of my themes were used and tested on WordPress MU and hence the presence of MU at the suffix.

The Satu Template WordPress Themes

I am unable to show most of the sites here. With the revamp of this site, those minisites were gone.

  • Sukumu : a sitewide template
  • SatuHati : One Heart - for a dating site
  • SatuPagi : another single column theme, pagi means morning

My themes are not copyright. But to release them to public, I may need to clean up the codes. There were many overlapping and redundant selectors

Also they are not for sale. I didn't create them from scratch. All templates were modified from the WordPress default - Kubrick.

You may want to sign up my newsletter. Should I release my theme, I may release them to my subscribers only

Satumu was original used for a one page blog. Yes, no menu, no side bar. Just a page for content. At the end of the page, a link to the next page is provided

I got this idea after visiting a site known as Affiliate Bully

So though the name Satumu stays, the theme had actually moved away from the original intention - a single column template.

I guess all things develop this way; moving away from initial plan as we progress, we decide whether to move forward or to stick to original plan

On web building, I have learnt to accept results. There's no time to stick stubbornly to plans didn't work or no longer applicable.

The 2 column template and 3 column template were developed just in case I need to use them. But to avoid filling in junk just to fill in the empty space, I'll use them when there's a real need for it.

If you like to try out the coding of this page template, here are the links.

Again, it's not copyright. Whether you copy the css code or just copy the file, it's free for you to use.

The advantage of coding out the page yourself is - you understand the codes better and it helps in customizing it to make it your own.
