Many people start playing back in high school but not many people start playing classical until later in life. If you just so happen to be one of those people then you are in for a surprise because classical acoustic is amazingly fun! If you have any experience playing the regular acoustic you will soon find out that the classical acoustic is played somewhat different. What I mean by this is that in order to play the classical you must become in tune with the instrument. You must feel the instruments power and music in your soul and let it all come out through your playing. This is not an easy thing to accomplish but if you can master this art, you will have many years of joy ahead of you!
Start out by relaxing and focusing on the music in front of you or in your mind, wherever it is coming from just focus on it. Get the feel for what the music is saying to you and your listeners and take that feeling and let it out through the guitar. Let the music consume you become a part of you, this is the secret to a great player! Do not be discouraged if you don't think you can do all of this, it is really not as hard as it sounds and after a few days of practicing you will have it down pat.
This is not going to be something that you can just learn how to do in a matter of hours or weeks even. Many people practice the classical acoustic for years to get to the level they are at and you will be no different. Just remember you get out of it what you put into it and if you just take 20 minutes a day and sit down and just play you will be amazed at the progress you will make.
You can find many resources on the internet that will help you learn how to play. In fact many of these resources are free and will give give you more than enough information to keep you busy for months. If you are wanting something a little more in depth you can go to your nearest bookstore and pick up some instructional guides for a cheap price. Just remember keep practicing!
